Getting started on your own home renovation in itself can be a daunting task but before long you’ll be faced with an even more challenging task; deciding and matching your preferred interior design. This is in itself a challenging task and if not much thought is put in you could end up with a pretty messed up design. In the past we’ve covered mostly well renovated homes of all sorts but recently I came across a home that was renovated with awkward results (well to me anyway).
Described as a modern classic design and undertaken by SQFT Space Design Management Sdn Bhd, the home; a condo in upmarket Sri Hartamas in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was renovated with garish result. Don’t get me wrong, I do not dislike the entire renovation and interior design work done but i feel that the different elements used resulted in what i would consider a major screw up.
What possessed the interior designer to recommend the wallpaper used in the living and dining areas is beyond me. The complex and intricate design of the wallpaper stands out like a sore thumb in the way it was applied in both living and dining areas. These spaces would have looked a great deal more appealing without the use of the wallpaper and kept some simplicity in the design executed.
The kitchen and bathrooms are in contract much better design executions with the use of elements that matched seamlessly with each other and are spaces I would have considered design inspirations for any potential future renovations but definitely without the wallpaper.
As they say “beauty lies in the eye of the beholder”, and i definitely do not find that wallpaper beautiful. Anyway, have a look at the pictures attached and share your thoughts with us. What do you think? Would you renovate your own home in this exact manner?
P.s. What the heck is up with the design of the bedding set used?

omg – kitchen / bathroom nice. the rest. OMG
love the bathroom…. but the rest..is not my cup of tea, especially the bedding used.
That bedding seriously looks very wrong. Completely spoils what would otherwise be a really nice room.
Kitchen & bathroom is ok. The rest not..
