Some of the most amazing homes around are sometimes the most simplest. How many times have we driven past a home that looked like the owner had spent a great deal renovating and redecorating but the home but it still looks plain ugly? Keeping things simple is a philosophy that is a perfect for us to keep in mind to never over complicate things.
Located in Madrid, Spain; this beautiful home has really stuck to the philosophy of keeping things simple and yet achieving a look that takes your breath away. Nestled against a hillside slope, this 3-storey home was designed with a modern minimalist facade featuring an alternating marble and glass finish. The entire exterior of the home has kept to a simplistic feel while allowing the living spaces within the home feel apart of the surrounding outdoors through the large floor to ceiling glass walls.
Featuring clean and defined living spaces, virtually the entire home has been finished with Travertine marble. Travertine is frequently used in modern architecture and we’ve seen quite a few examples of homes that have used this marble to create a soothing sense of calm. Heck even when I look at the grains of this marble I feel a sense of peace; I shit you not. While trying to extend the feeling of calm lent by the homes finishing; this is the married to almost every room of this house offering immediate access to landscaped terraces or ground-floor courtyards, where even a water feature aligned with smooth grey river rocks matches the home’s soothing sense of calm.
This calm and soothing example of the wonders that can be created through architectural ingenuity was dreamt up by the guys of A-Cero Architects. These guys are responsible for some really beautifully renovated homes and you can check out some of their other projects by searching our site through the search bar.
