The Germans have always been associated with exceptional engineering through international brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Dorma and a slew of other brands that have made it big in the international arena. It comes as no surprise then to see this exquisitely renovated home located in Stuttgart, Germany.
Conceptualized by Alexander Brenner Architects, this magnificent house is home to not one but two families. The view from the street faces the north facade of this home and is composed of cubes and wall slabs, while appearing mostly as a solid structure hides the fact that this is in fact two homes behind a facade that gives the perception of a single, detached villa.
Both homes have almost the same floor area with the western half of the duplex consisting of a multi-room unit which is more suited for a family, whereas the eastern half has been designed with an open space flowing concept that is more in tune with an interior that has been designed to maximize space perception.
The ground floor unit sports a double volume designed ceiling for the living room and dining area and adds to the feeling of spaciousness of the home. While furnishing looks rather sparse in the pictures shared, it seems to be more of a knowing choice of form over function. Even so, with the full length floor to ceiling windows providing an almost unobstructed view of the outdoors, this space feels anything but bare.
This is one exquisitely designed house that i wouldn’t mind calling home. With the beautiful details painstakingly worked into the overall design of this home, the creation of space here would allow for a great deal of creativity for home furnishing, something that not many homes have the flexibility to meet.
