Changing the scene of home makeover in Bali

When one brings up the topic of interesting homes from the Indonesian resort island of Bali, immediately the images of serene homes in an almost raw timber finish, coupled with light see through drapes, throw pillows and a water feature surrounded by greenery. Most of us have been consistently bombarded with the form of imagery described that we almost instantly associate that with homes in Bali.

The Lovelli Residence is has however definitely strayed from this norm, the brainchild of the Word of Mouth studio and its owner, the result is a unique home that still embodies some of the finer features found in Balinese styled homes while incorporating the overall facets of Mediterranean styled villas.

The facade of this bungalow home is finished in an immaculate white and gives a contrasting effect to the soothing greenery of plants doting the grounds and upper level of this beautiful home while a swimming pool and outdoor deck graces the front of this beautifully designed home.

Consisting a total of 3 bedrooms, the home has been laid out to provide adequately each room with enough space to make most of our meager rooms pale in comparison. Two bedrooms occupy the ground floor on opposing sides complete with its own individually attached  bathrooms and shower areas, with the master bedroom occupying the entire first floor.

The concept of openness commonly found in Balinese styled homes is used here throughout the entire home. Each guest bedroom on the ground floor is accessible through its own individual glass entrance from the courtyard or from the living room which separates the two rooms within the home. Accessing the master bedroom is in itself wonderfully unique and by means of a staircase located at the side of the home.

The interior of the home, well… I’m really unsure how it can be classified besides stating that it is a contemporary design with a definite Balinese touch to it. The living room and the veranda in the middle of the home provide visitors plenty of space to sit and relax whilst soaking in the view of the swimming pool, while a dip in the pool is just a short jump away.

The most fascinating feature of this home must be the bathroom located in the master bedroom itself. Finished in timber and painted exquisitely white, the timber platform accentuates the black finished bathtub. Interestingly the bathtub is located just behind the tatami styled bed, making a quick soak never too far.

With a home this exceptionally beautiful, entertaining guests will never be something infrequent and far between, the layout of this home seems purpose built to handle a constant flow of nights partying or friends relaxing and soaking in the best that life has to offer.
