Romanticist Tey Cindy Shares Her Condo Makeover

Definitely wish i knew a great more people of which i could feature their made over homes to help increase the ideas and inspirations of future home projects of readers of Habitat-MY. StarProperty in an article uploaded yesterday featured a very cosy apartment by celebrity blogger Tey Cindy of the Cin City blog which focuses on fashion, pop-culture and reality TV.

I’m not much of a fan of fashion and pop-culture, and the only reality TV show i really follow is Storage Wars on Astro so i can’t really say that I’ve heard of her blog before reading her home review on StarProperty. But it’s interesting to see how a fashion aficionado has designed and decorated her home in a manner that looks extremely cozy and warm.

This condominium located in Mont Kiara, KL brings to life colours and subtle design elements that I must say, is not seen in many homes so far. And i’m talking about houses I’ve seen way before Habitat-MY even came into existence. The subtle hints of baby blue on the furniture and carpets against the white walls in the living room gives this room a feeling of coziness. With the wicker ceiling lamps dangling serenely overhead, the room gives the sense of serenity in a space that most of us use to relax after a long day of work.

A decorative partition hung from the ceiling is used to act as a barrier between the comfort of the living area from the more functional areas of the home, the kitchen and the dining area. This also helps with the perception of space especially in condominium units that commonly share the living, dining and kitchen areas. In stark contrast to the living room, the dining is seen here set against more vibrant colours, with a bright yellow wall adjoining the dining space as well as colourful and quirky paintings adorning the walls. The art pieces especially, look very unique and blend in seamlessly against the colour theme which give this dining area a more active feeling which is vastly different from the style of the living room.

Just off to the side of the dining, you’ll find located the kitchen with all necessary appliances set in a rather neat and organized manner. Finished all in white with a splash of colour on the floor through the use of alternating baby blue and white tiles installed in a checkered design. But generally i find that the kitchen gives off an Ikea feel to it with it’s clean neat look and that stainless steel ceiling light dangling overhead. Not exactly a bad thing, and in this home the concept used for the kitchen has blended seamlessly with the overall quirky details of this home.

The colour splashes theme continues from the dining area into the bedroom where the focus here is on the colour red. Overall colours chosen in this room are of an earthy note with dashes of red from the throw pillows on the bed to the red carpet at the foot of the bed. This continues the soothing and relaxed feeling created throughout the various spaces of this home.

The choices and matches of colours in this home have been interesting and have been quite out of the ordinary and it is really refreshing to see someone try and succeed using colours which are out of the ordinary. This condo unit really has been transformed from your everyday blend basic white unit, to one which has a hint of elegance and flair that is oft associated with its owner. Total cost for the makeover of this condo unit cost RM10,000 and taking into consideration the extensiveness of thought into the design cues, the money spent on this home makeover was spent extremely effectively.
